i already bought a whole new 2.2 head and all. and i will not even bother with the rest info in this thread... ps the 2.2 can with stand the reving unless you are beating it all day and all week the piston speed has more to do with bearings then it does with the bending of a rod and breakng a bolt ( but it does have some effect on it)

you are completely ignoring the side loading increase due to the longer crank and shorter rods. that loading will accelerate the wear on the walls if you rev to 9000rpm.

honda made the f22 redline 8200 for a reason.

Sorry to repeat my self. So lets say i get an f22c mated with an 01 tranny and kept the 8k redline and just threw some 4.44 or 4.57 gears then it would work out correct? Would I be as fast or faster than an ap2?

It would probably be cheaper to sell the F20C tranny and get the one made for the F22C. Would also keep it simple.

Did you get an estimate for a rebuild yet?

No I havn't, I don't have enough money right now to rebuild it or get a new one so I'm just taking it slow and looking at what my options are. I'm trying to stay away from a rebuild though, I dunno, I feel like if I rebuild it I will always be riding around on a some-what stable and some-what powerfull engine. I dunno, we'll have to see!

im thinkin youd be better off to rebuild. first you need to get the head off and see how bad the damage is. if the damage is mostly to the head, and your cylinders look ok, rebuild. clean it all up, put some nicer stuff in there and start savin for forced. youll be glad you did. nothing kicks more ass than big horsepower at high RPM. but if its all trashed, then F22 motor/trans swap may be a better route. just make sure you upgrade to ap2 driveline and get the companion flange for the diff. best of luck to you. hope your s runs again soon. dave
