how do you over rev the car? wouldn't the rev limiter come into play?

I suppose taking the car up to 9 grand every so often (once a week or so) isn't a good idea then?

sorry guys I'm a dumbass when it comes to this stuff.I'm jsut tryin to learn it.

No, the over-rev comes on the down-shift. Too many RPMS when going for the lower gear, by missing fourth and hitting second for instance.

There are no problems revving the car on the up-shift. We hit a fuel cutoff to save us there.

The rev limiter works when the engine is driving the rear wheels. It won't help or do anything if the rear wheels are driving the engine. See the difference?

hey peeps out there! i'm new to posting stuff here so my apologies if i make a fool of myself, but one of my buddies was telling me to do a jdm s2k motor swap to my y2k_s2k cause the motor is built better! that it has forged internals and whatnot! i haven't found anything online yet about this being true so if someone can enlighten me it would help me out and possibly kayvan make a decision!

Your buddy must not have an S2000. USDM and JDM both have forged internals. I would only get a JDM if your USDM motor needs to be replaced.

That's the problem with football coaches. They think they can coach rugby, too.

BTW, they are all built in the same factory in Japan (actually the engine is built in another factory but hey!) so I highly doubt there is a quality difference betwenn USDM and JDM quality.
