Insurance? Just like an accident, you didn't mean for this to happen. Try claiming it on your insurance. As long as it wasn't a timed event, ie. racing, you will probably be covered.

s22k, the rev limiter does not protect against a misshift. It only prevents you from overrevving while accelerating.
