Blown Motor
Interesting point, Utah S2K!
I think a majority of the 15 on my short block thread were long time members of http://www.honda-acura.net or http://www.s2000online.com before their engine failure. Several joined the posting on-line community at their moment of need.

I know John has only had his car a month, as I met him a couple days before S2kdays and he had just bought it. So he hasn't had much time to post, since he's obviously been driving a lot based on that mileage
John, sent you email. That sucks man. Make sure you take it to Hendrick Honda, since they handled Lisa's car too.

Oh well, nothing is perfect these days. There is bound to be a couple of misfits. After all, when it comes to producing anything there is never perfection for all. True to that one, sometimes it's not the owner but the manufacturer. Still a ratio not to stress about at least, there are worst cases in Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubitshi and Subaru non the least.

Barry are you sure it is 16 out of 30,000 produced? I thought it is more like 16 out of the total number of members on this board? Which is probably a few thousand.

Teething is painful.
I'm just glad we've got good warranties. As far as I know, the number of owners who have paid money out of pocket for the short block or whole engine repair is zero, even if the cause was driver error such as missing a downshift and revving the thing to 11,000.
Barry
My short block failure was a result of low (or almost no) oil. My fault for not checking the oil at every fill up but why didn't that oil light come on? No missed shift here. I was participating on the board before my hour of need however my engine died with under 3000 miles so I wasn't a member for long.
Good luck getting the short block replaced John.
