I assume you're talking about maintaining your night vision? You're right, that does work, but I've driven other cars (99 bug) that have blue, green, etc dashes, and I dont' think the dash is bright enough in any color to ruin your night vision.

Probably because you're really not using your night vision, given that you have headlights....

Looks pretty cool.

Do you think the redline bars should be a different color? Maybe a bit more deep blue or something?

I can fix it once we determine whether the LED's are colored, or if there is a screen in front

It would be my bet they're using colored LEDs since red/amber and green LEDs are about 10 for a penny in bulk, so this swap would most likely require new lights.

Another thing to think about...since we're dealing with more than just a handful of elements (I'm guessing there's about 70 without looking), Honda has probably set the display up as a unit (i.e., no individual LEDs to unsolder and replace, just one large array).

I have no idea since I haven't really thought about it until now, but it is certainly the economical way for them to go. Make the entire assembly cheap to manufacture and replace it as a whole as they fail.
