Default blue painters tape?

hey guys...i just had a quick question...im goin to be driving up to San Francisco on I-5 north later this week to see my girlfriend...i was just wondering what you guys thought of using blue painters tape on the front bumper and side mirrors as a sort of make-shift bra...i use to drive up all the time to see her in my RSX and the bumper was always covered with bugs and occasional nicks from the pebbles that the semi's throw up...has anyone ever put blue painters tape on their bumpers before? it's not to sticky so i don't think it'll leave any residue on the bumper but i was hoping you guys would have some thoughts...thanks

I use it all the time on long drives and at the track. It does leave some residue sometimes but it is pretty easy to clean off.

I saw an Aston-Martin Vantage w/its front end covered w/blue painters tape so I asked the driver what's up. He said he was delivering the car from LA to a new owner in SF & that the exotic car dealership he works for does it all the time. Obviously paint should be clean and a good waxing seems like a good idea too. And even though it's the blue kind, don't leave it on for too long.

Why not get a bra? As ridiculous as bras look, if the need is there it has to look better than your whole front nose covered in blue tape.

Has anyone ever tried the purple "Perfect Release" tape instead? It's supposedly less adhesive. I was wondering if maybe it leaves less residue.
