Then an S8 with the Quattro is probably overkill, isn't it?

uhh...no.

silver can probably confirm as he owns a quattro S4, but the benefit of the quattro is ALL TIME traction.

when i'm waiting at a traffic light to make a left turn, and the light turns green, i can mash the throttle and the car gets pushed AND pulled through the turn - in essence the car is "flat".

in the S2000, i have to feather the throttle so as not to make the back end come around on me as the front wheels have no drive in them to compensate/balance the car.

i may not be describing the phenomenon correctly, silver can maybe describe...

I think it's more satisfaction in controlling the car around the turn than just mashing the throttle... IMHO

yes, but your missing my point. in the audi - i can mash the throttle AND be in control. if you get a chance, drive a high powered 4-wheel drive car (i'm sure any make/model will do) to understand what i'm talking about.

but this is civilian driving. on a track.........

I am in envy of your garage. The big Audi is perfect for traveling. Plenty of comfortable stretch-out room for hours-on-end cruising at extra-legal speeds. If you encounter a little snow on a mountain pass, you need not worry; however, come the weekend, and you want to take a quick top-down sprint on your favorite twisty, the S2K is the perfect choice. You are a lucky dog, my friend!

I don't have a C4S - just driven one that belongs to a good friend of mine... My AWD vehicle is an MDX.

thanks lvs2k.

i thank god every day for my good fortunes.

though i do need to ditch the BMW soon - 3 pricey cars for 2 drivers is a waste of money - i couldn't resist on the Audi as i got a HUGE discount ($20K or so off MSRP)
