bought my first S2000 today, what do you think?
After keeping my eyes open for a few months I pulled the trigger today. My main requirements were that it was stock or very close to it, the price was under 15K, had reasonable miles and not yellow. This car showed up on ebay today and I checked it out on my lunch hour. I had a check list, tires, fluids, top, blue smoke, clutch slip etc and everything was good. The body was close to perfect but the interior showed some wear, especially the drivers side seat bolster. I took it for a test drive and tracked straight, pulled hard to redline and the clutch didn't slip. Although the clutch didn't slip, it didn't feel wonderful either, it had a on/off feel, without much travel, is this normal? It should no signs of slipping, I tried the 30mph, 3rd gear full throttle test and the car pulled well but didn't feel like it had a lot of meat left on it.
It was listed for $13995 which I thought was a bargain for the miles and condition, I hoped to knock off $500-$1000 but the dealer knew it was cheap and said S2K's sell fast, as a courtesy he took off $100, so it came to $13895 + tax and tags, he didn't try to add on any sneaky dealer fees.
I left a deposit and will pick it up Saturday. I look forward to enjoying it for a while as a second car.

nice purchase, I really like the colour combination, and the car looks to be in really good condition. Being from a different country I can't comment on the price, but it seems reasonable. The passenger side seat looks mint, if it was my car I'd probably swap the passenger seat over to the driver side to even out the wear and give you a bit more support. Enjoy the new ride.
Always liked the red/black interiors. Is the leather damaged on the driver's seat, or just the cushion? A good upholstery shop should be able to replace the foam for you.
Looks like the front bumper has been painted. The fake air ducts should be black.

best colour combination. Its a 2000 with good miles. If you'll be tracking/slaloming it, don't forget to do your oil banjo bolt upgrade…oh, just take it to Billman for a thorough going over if you're in the NY area.

I wouldve held out for more. The front bumper has been repainted, the driver seat bolster is toast, had or has an aftermarket alarm installed, and it still has the plastic rear window.
Hard to say as what one is used to can really affect one's perception of the clutch on any car. You'd really to have to test drive several or have someone familiar with the S test drive for you to determine if it's normal.
