Yea, i did searches, but it seems that the noise doesnt go away even with a clutch replacement. Is this true for ppl that have gotten their clutches replaced?

thanks.

Most people report is goes away completely, or is greatly reduced.. however, it has been known to come back over time, so a replaced disc is no guarantee. This is why I suggest you wait until you need to replace the clutch due to wear since its not inexpensive.

I replaced my clutch disk at 35k miles; the car rattled and buzzed like a Yugo or some other pos brand of car. People would ask, "What's wrong with your car?"

The noise did go away. Of course, the original disk didn't make the noise when new, nor did it make it when I bought the car with 3k miles on it. It developed over time, so only time and miles will tell whether the fix lasts or not. I hope it does last.

There are two springs on the friction disc that become lose and cause the buzz. This is the piece that needs to be replaced. That $900 is mainly labor. Clutch swap is very involved.. you have to drop the tranny.. or remove the engine. Take your pick

I would stick with OEM if you like the way it feels but there are several after market alternatives... its all on what you want your clutch to feel like because any replacement is going to fix that issue

My car buzzes horribly - and I tranny brake like nobody's business so my car is always buzzing and rattling. I have a new clutch going in now so we'll see how that goes. It's a completely different setup (Competition stage 3 and Comptech flywheel).

You can get it done for MUCH less than 900. Find a friend or local club member who can do the work, pay them 2-3 hundred, and you're done.

Getting work done at a dealership is for newbs
