250 + 200 paint + 50 grill + 75 install/removal + 25 emblem = 600. claim insurance.

If you figure in blend to hood and fenders... whoa buddy, you're looking at close to 1k in damages. Blending fenders and hood will need to include R&I headlamps, side markers, hood nozzels, mask/bag car for overspray, and replacement of S2000 emblems ($20 each). Insurance probably wont pay for a blend anyway.

A good shop will color match close enoough where a blend wont be necessary. GL to ya!

i wanted to work on a project for my front bumper and was waiting to buy a damaged one for cheap. that will help you with the cost of a new one.

Behind the bumper is about 2.5" of foam, then a big steel cross section. I doubt you've done much more than compresed the foam.

If your insurance company won't pay for a blend, you need either a new insurance company or a new shop. For me, when I needed a new bumper, there was no question. You repaint the bumper and blend the hood and fenders. Honestly, with silverstone, there's little choice. But unless you plan on doing all the work yourself and just having the shop spray the bumper, you'd be cheaper up front by going through insurance. However, with a <~$200 difference, it might be cheaper to fix it yourself and save the increase in premiums.

Your car is a 2004 so it's newer than mine, but I backed my car into the side of my garage when backing out- destroyed the passenger's side tail light, creased the bumper cover and bent the fender.

I just ate the cost myself and did not report it to insurance, I got the tail light lens for $180 off the internet and the body shop refinished my bumper, pulled the fender out and blended everything for $800. The repair turned out pretty well. Even my original bumper cover looks better than it did before and I still have the original VIN stickers on every body panel on the car.

My insurance deductible is $500 so it was worth the $500 to me to not have to deal with the insurance company and any possible premium increase.

Well, just got back from the bodyshop.

They quoted my $2100....which before everyone gets worked up includes the following niceties:
-Replace passenger headlight: $520
-Replace paint protection: $550 installed

So, all in all, about $1100 in what I would deem 'extras'. That still leave about $1000 to do the repair...perfect. Were talking blending the hood and fenders and replacing and matching the front bumper skin.

Just to replace and paint the front bumper is gonna be $6XX, anyways.

Now I gotta call the insurance company and tell them about my stupidity
