Default Brake noise

My left front break has been making a lot of noise lately like a highpitched scraping noise so i took it to the dealership to get the brakes replaced and they did a brake check and said that the brakes were at 40% and there was no need replacing them. But if you look at the right front rotor (the one that has been making noise) their are 2 marks around it that are around a few mm deep.

See the 2 marks around the rotor.

Thanks,
Gavin

It looks as there is not in fact 40% left. If you remove the wheel yourself, you will have a clear view of the remaining pad thickness. For that matter, if you position the spokes right, you can see see the brake pad through the wheel spokes.

Could be a rock stuck in the caliper?

and when i say it is making noise i mean it is really making noise like i can hear it over my stereo sometimes. I am also wondering why my dealeship would say they are fine if they really aren't i mean i was going to make them more money.

It appears that you do not have a whole lot of experience wrenching on cars. I recommend you hook up with someone in your local forum/region who has experience to show you the ropes.

Even jacking up the car has a proper procedure. I wouldn't want you to damage your car by jacking it improperly, or worse, damage yourself

You probably have a small pebble or something caught in there. That happened to me at an autocross, it scared the CRAP out of me when I pulled into the pits and they were squeeling like mad. Remove the wheel and the brake pad from the rotor while you're at it put some brake quiet goo on the back of the pad.
