Hi Dave,

One thing to consider is to let the car sit a while before checking the oil level.

No one mentioned brake break-in. Green pads outgas a lot of volatile material in the first few hundred miles.

A good sequence is to drive for about an hour in moderately busy subrurban traffic, or, find a desolate stretch of road and (looking behind you first of course):

Go to 50 mph, brake moderately hard, go back to 50, brake mod again. Do this seuqence about 5 times. Let the brakes cool by driving slowly in the right lane for several miles, then repeat the mod braking sequence again. Try to avoid heavy braking for at least 250-500 miles.

Outgassed crap from green pads can coat the caliper and glze it and the pads, reducing brake efficiency and producing nasty noises.

Excuse the ignorance, but what is Vtec ing? Does this mean revving the engine until it rev limiter cuts in? I am old in years but new to Honda and I don't want to miss out on any fun.

Edit: Bummer, looks like you beat me to it, Xviper.

Im Rebbe,
I'm no expert but this is my take on Vtec. It is a variable timing that kicks in around 6,000 RPM and gives you a kick in power kinda like an afterburner. The cylinders are kept open longer so more fuel is let in before it's ignited under increased pressure. How'd I do guys?

What you'll notice is a "grungier", louder sound from the engine as it bears down and the accelleration becomes really fun.

"VTEC" is when the second, more aggressive cam profile cut in, resulting in a real "kick in the pants" due to the added engine output.
