Whats the max redline and for how many miles do I have to control myself. before I can hit the vtec? I think its gonna kill me to wait.

keep it low 6000r.p.m. and for near 1000miles....

READ THE MANUAL. You don't buy a 30K car and NOT read the manual. If you love him or her go read it, and if not, the manual says 600Miles Below 5000 RPMs. You'll need to read it in order to reset the main. lights etc.
