I could be wrong but there was at least one majore trade rag which tested a 2.0L S2K that had been "upgraded" with Brembo brakes and the braking distances were worse than stock. Something to do with the brake force distribution.

Either way, do your research.

do you use your car for racing, if so all you reall need is better pads i seriously doubt that you are out driving your stock brakes, so your probaly getting the brmbos for looks or bragging rights, so it doesnt make a difference which one you get, because youl never come close to out driving a set of brembos so get which ever one you like the way they look since that seems what your buying them for

Do a search, this is a weekly thread.

Other than that, define "best".

Define upgrade? What about the stock system do you feel is substandard? That's the only way we can begin to help. Just because you slap a fancy label on a braking system doens't make it "best."

I'm in total love with my S!! it's my pride and joy! and haven't thought about changing anything, i think it's perfect! not taken it on a track day yet but am looking at doing it very soon!
However was offered a new set of brembo's for a good price and wanted to get some feed back asap and this forum seem to be in the know! i hadn't done any research before posting the message, but will do now!

Thanks for the advice!

Unless you track your car heavily, stock brakes are more than enough.
Don't waste your money.

You're probably being offered the Brembo Gran Turismo Big Brake kit. And as you know, Brembo is one of if not the leading product provider in the Brake world. That said, I'm not sure the Gran Turismo kit is worth all it's cracked up to be. The kit probably doesn't decrease stopping distance much, just resists fade a lot more than the stock kit.

My advice, by the kit for this awesome deal you speak up, then sell it in the S2KI for sale forums for a profit. Save the profit money for something that you will truly enjoy. (wheels, gears, X-brace, SC or a better BBK, i.e. Stoptechs)
