To have to drive a mundane vehicle or a POS would be just too painful.
Amen.

From what I've heard from the caterpillars, we are supposed to have a mild winter. Hopefully that means a few inches of snow now and again without any huge 3 foot dumps.
Umm... I at least want enough snow so I can go skiing!

My S2000 check-list:

Hard top - check!
Blizzaks - check!
Block heater - check!
Rubber floormats -check!

Subaru WRX STi -nope...

Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, it'd be nice to get some kind of seat cover to protect the nice perforated leather from my snowy butt.

For 4 winters, I threw on a piece of sheep skin over the seat bottom. Worked like a charm but it needed to be "straightened out" periodically. Going into my 5th winter, I recently acquired a set of Okole neoprene seat covers. This is just like wet suit material. Very form fitting and instantly warms up when you sit on it. And because it's made of wet suit stuff, it doesn't mind getting a little wet.

And as long as we're on the subject of winter:

The GOOD:

The BAD:

And the UGLY:

But I do have a snow "blower":

Wish I can say the same.

I drove my S2000 last winter with Blizzaks on. Car handled perfect and I had so much fun driving it. But, It's the other stupid drivers in Ohio I am worried about. Couple of inches of snow will basically deadlock city roads and highways here in Columbus area. I did have near crash experience with some dumb bimbo in her SUV last winter.

So I got a Volvo. 850GLT. 140k miles on it but it's been taken care of. Sold my blizzaks LM22 to another board member here. Snow tires will go on my Volvo soon. I will look forward to drive my S2000 in spring again.

Winter...well...safety is number one issue for me But I am glad you guys do enjoy your car all year around. I did...and I wanted to but....there are just way too many stupid drivers on the road...and I don't want my S2000 to get hurt. You never know.

On a lighter note, my 9 year old Volvo got heated seats and it works!

I was planning on winterizing my S also, just needed the snow tires (already got the hard top). Then, I got it lowered, and the vented CF hood, and I had a Tahoe last winter.

Well, after $400 in gas every month with the tahoe, I decided to sell it, and buy the snows for this winter.

I have too many miles on my S, and want to keep them down for as long as possible. Dont like parking downtown for school, and it already got vandalized once. Some kid threw a piece of asphalt at it, took a chunk out of my CF hood, and cracked my windshield.

So thats when I decided to get this....(still got VTEC year round)

How is the Acura less likely to be vandalized?

Because it's a "family sedan"... There are lots of them out there, and they are less flashy.

Same reason why I drive an S10 Blazer as a daily driver/beater.

Also makes you appreciate the S that much more when you get in it on the weekend (or spring, for those of you that live in a place where an S2k isn't an ideal car for year-round driving).

Also, here's my favorite picture that you guys up north can probably appreciate:

I drove my S a bit last winter (I had a second car through January until I sold it) but now I have the ultimate winter beater car: a WRX Still, I was just thinking before I read this thread that I was sad to think of how little time I will be spending with my S over the next 3-4 months.

ooooh you know what would be nice? Seat warmers! Anybody have them installed? Any recommendations? Xviper has the good idea with the seat cover that warms up with your body temp though.

1) Is that why a car gets vandalized? I would have thought it was because of the driver.
2) No problem appreciating my car and I drive it every day
3) Awesome pic.
