brutal summer heat?
It's a small cabin so it cools down quickly. Just tint your windows and get a windshield sunscreen. I've spent 2 summers with the S here in Texas and it hasn't been too bad. I think there's only been a handful of occasions where I'd leave the top up but other than that I've had the top down, AC going, and the good ol' sunglasses styling.
Just don't forget about the sunblock.

why own the S if you don't want to put the top down ?
Me ? I don't want to put the top up !!! Wife and I go play in death valley and Vegas every chance we get in the summer, I visit Needles often since that is where I lived before, ALWAYS TOP DOWN. Seems silly to buy a convertible and have no interest in putting the top down and drive the car like it was meant to be.

Maybe I'm used to it, but it doesn't seem to get any hotter inside the S than it does in my tin roof DD. Also, with a hat and sunglasses, top down here in cFL is heaven in the summer.

LIve in central Florida...the car is awesome now...
just have to worry though with this black rag top
with no liner....how hot does this car get?
Use as DD and have no interest in putting top down.
I think it's gonna get warm!

If you're looking into tint keep an eye on the heat rejection of the tint options when you're shopping. I went with Wincos which has 92% rejection and does an excellent job.

Just get a hardtop. You also get 1.5-2" of additional headroom over softtop.
That would solve a couple of problems at once.
And I think...fom hardtopguy.com he has OEM hardtops for
$2600 and $600 in hardware.
Thanks for all the replys....I'm not currently any cooler..
but after reading all your responses and driving the S I am
indeed smiling!
