Default Bugged out!

2001 Spa Yellow S2K. Since my ownership I have taken great pride in keeping my ride nice, clean and waxed regularly. I have also taken steps to protect the interior since it is constantly being beaten on by the sun in SoCal. One problem that I see becoming a bigger problem than originally noticed is the fact that everytime I wash my car by hand, bugs (more noticiably gnats) carpet the exterior of my car. it is very annoying since these damned things come in the hundreds and if I try to shoo them away with a towel, I find myself having to clean bug smears of my just washed car. Now I understand that my car attracts alot of bugs because of the color but it is to the point to where it is unbearable. That is not where it ends. I have been using Zymol interior leather conditioner. The product works great and smells good... especially to Bee's. The last time I washed my car and started working on the interior, there were a total of 12 Bees swarming my car. Needless to say I had to wait for almost an hour before I could go back and finished what I had started.

I wonder if there is anyone else facing these same problems and if so, what do you do to prevent it.

I don't know how to fix the bug problem, but I can help you with the bees.
While your working, take a large plastic cup and fill it with coke, the bees will be attracted to it because of the suger, and odds are you will trap most of them. at least you can work on your car with out getting stung

Another solution for the bees, is to get a jam jar with some honey in it. Make some small holes in the lid by piercing it with a screwdriver or the like leaving the sharp edges pointing into the jar.

The bees will be attracted to the honey, squeeze through the holes, and then not be able to get out......

I have no ideas for the bug problem either though...

At least you can keep your car looking gnatty!

Must be a yellow thing. I never have that problem with my silverstone. And bugs encountered on the highway slide right off the zaino

I have the same problem, except I find that bulls are more attracted to my car than are bees!

Guess the bugs are getting us back for so many bug splatters on the front of the car and windshield from going so fast!
