Clean title s2000. $9k will obviously get you a higher mileage s2000 but that doesn't mean it has beat up or in rough condition.

I'm with you.
I also agree the OP should save $2-3k more.

Like others have said, 9k can get you a clean title AP1. If I were you I'd wait a few more months and try and save 2k more. Your options from there will widen greatly.
I'm surprised that everyone thinks $9000 will easily get him a "clean" S2000. I suppose it depends on what you mean by clean. I expect that $9000 will buy him a 2000/2001 with 120,000+ miles unless, the car is in really rough shape.
x2 I's save a bit cash if you can 10 to 12 k would open some options ..as in getting a car with a clean title ...

^^ Agree with this guy, also i wouldnt recommend getting a salvage title unless you plan on keeping this car forever because your resale value is diminished.
I got my first s2000 2 years ago it was a grey 2001 with 58,xxx miles in near mint condition paint 100% stock with a newly replaced oem softop and the guy was asking $11,000 and i got it for $10,800. I considered that a steal at the time but id say if you are patient you will find someone who doesn't realize they could get more for their car and just want fast cash. I was 17 when i got my first s2k(now on my second) i dont know why the one guy said you shouldn't buy this car based off of solely your age what really determines if you should/can is your current income right?

Edit: Forgot to mention the only thing my 01 s2k needed before it was ready for the road was a set of new tires.

I was thinking the exact same thing, how the hell are people getting clean s2000's for $9k? These cars are not cheap, did they drop in price that much?

Are AP1's really that bad?? (just a joke people)

Offering 6500 didn't work, honestly im just tired looking at cars and getting no where. I don't know what i should do, should i ask if he would do 7000-7500. Any help would be appreciated, i haven't been feeling well all month; so maybe some advice would cheer me up.

Oh my budget is only 9000, i would probably have one by now if it was higher.
i was in the same boat as you 2 years ago. i wanted an s2000 so bad i wouldve done anything just to have one. i was looking at an ap1 that had 90k on the clock and an accident or 2 for 9k. i couldnt afford the sellers 9k price tag and left empty handed. i got 2 jobs, went to school and saved up a lot. fast forward 2 years later and now im rolling around in a 07 nfr ap2 with 24k on the clock! its hard to hear what other people are telling you about being patient especially since you want the car so bad. trust me i know. be patient and dont settle for less. who knows maybe you'll score an 09 s2000 cr for an amazing deal!best of luck to you man!

I mentioned that because if he is under 18, then he has a ton of time ahead of him. He could wait and get a really nice S2000 rather than settling for an 'ok' one now.
