Default Bunch of bad luck recently

My parents run apartments in a less affluent part of town. A few weeks ago, the back window of our honda odyssey was busted. Most likely from an angry tenant. This morning we found sugar in the gas tank of the odyssey(thank God it wasn't my s2000) when stopping to fill up. Again, most likely from an angry tenant, and we're pretty sure who it is, but with no proof we can't do anything. I don't understand why tenants get angry when they can't pay rent, and they're told to move out. This is not a charity. While out shopping tonight for security equipment, I found a nail in the rear tire of my s2000. I stopped by autozone afterwards to buy locking gas caps for all my family's cars. They were 12 bucks a piece, but worth it for the peace of mind. To top it all off, on my way home from autozone, a speeding car coming from the opposite direction on a two lane road threw what I think was a water balloon into my windshield. I turned around, but the car was long gone. Luckily no damage. Well, not everything has been bad recently. I just took my dental admissions test on monday and scored in the 97%tile.

Lesson of the story: Go buy a locking gas cap. You never know when somebody might put something into your gas tank that is not gas.

Also, does anybody know what to do about sugar in the gas tank? I was reading online that sugar ruining engines is a myth. It does not dissolve in gas. I'm going to take the gas tank off tommrow and clean it out, along with the filter. Hopefully, multiple cleanings of the filter and cleaning out the tank will do the trick.

Sorry to hear that, thats lame, though I don't really know what to do about the sugar, my best bet would be taking the gas tank off and draining it... goodluck

Pretty sure Mythbusters covered sugar in the gastank in one of their episodes - try seeing if you can download it somewhere or find it on DVD.

As to what to do about it...drain the tank?

It may not dissolve in gasoline but if it ever gets picked up by the fuel pump-"BAM", instant carmelisation. Have you ever boiled over anything that had sugar in it on a flat-top electric stove.?
On the other hand, since the sugar isn't dissolved, maybe it would react like sand. Possibly the fuel filter would catch it all and just restrict all flow to the engine.
Whatever the case, your going to have to throughly clean the tank. Good luck

With gasahole, there's plenty of water in the tanks these days. Good luck. If you have to get the car fixed, remember that it's probably a business repair for a business vehicle. So basically, the repair becomes a write-off on the taxes.

Your commentary has nothing to do with luck though. There is no luck. You have someone actively attacking you and your family. I'd consider getting a gun if you don't already have one. People do crazy shit for money. I have customers who would sell me their mothers for a $10 discount.
