About a week ago I started to notice a burning smell from my S2000. I was upset, partially because my 93 Honda Accord with 110,000 miles has only had scheduled maintenance and never an emergency repair.

I anticipated that this would be the first of many problems with my S2000 (to save money I did not get an extended warranty). On the other hand, the car seemed to be running fine.

I called up the dealer, where I have had my Honda service done for many years, to schedule an appointment and he said, "Look under the car and check if there is a piece of plastic caught on the exhaust and then call back". I thought to myself, "These guys can do scheduled maintenance, but they are not that good with problems".

I then looked under the car, as he suggested, and there it was, a plastic bag had melted on the exhaust pipe! I pulled it off and now everything is fine.

In one week, I will have had my S2000 for a year!

Explain this one, then...

Once in a blue moon I SWEAR I smell a good bit of weed being burnt. Best I can come up with is someone had to place their stash somplace when the cop was floating around, and my tailpipe looked like the best place. Nothing like a double buzz ridin' in my stook...one from the stash and one from the VTEC!

MacGyver:

That's probably a skunk. You can smell it so much more clearly in a roadster.

MacGyver,

I noticed this the other day on my way home from work... Was tooling up I-95 and caught a nice whiff. Since I had the top down, I just assumed that someone in traffic ahead of me was burnin' a fatty... Let me know if resin starts dripping out of your exhaust.

Maybe your actually driving one of those Cheech and Chong cars that made entirely out of Ganja. That movie cracks me up.

I had an AutoX cone stuck against the header pipes! Not only was I mad that I hit it, but it stunk like burning plastic!

Sunchild,

Believe me, I know what a skunk smells like, and this ain't it! I must admit, though, I rather smell ganja than a skunk anyday.

<yelling> Damnit, I said STOOK, not STOKE!
