The roof switch is supposed to light up, yes. The door switches don't.

I currently have five burnt out bulbs in mine - the engine start button, "audio control" and "mode push", roof switch and heater fan up/down lights are all out.

Bulbs aren't expensive (check out your local electronics store - i bought a 10 pack for $4), but it is a bit of a chore to replace them. I'm going to replace all of the bulbs behind the dash this spring.
