I'ver read the hype about the car in this forum and a little in car & driver, etc... I've driven a few and really like it. I'm buying one because of it. But let's look at the hypothetical....
Say, some guy in a ____ pulls up next to me at a stoplight and wants to race. Assuming both cars are stock, who can I probably take (assuming I learn to drive the s2k well), with these cars filling in the blank.
-350z
-mustang GT
-lexus IS300
-trans am
-boxster
I'm just curious. Anyone have stories of smoking someone, who didn't know about the sk2 and thought they could beat it?

The first sentence of your second paragraph practically disqualifies you as a future happy S2k owner.
THe S2000 is not a drag racer, it lacks the torque, horsepower, clutch, transmission, and drive line. Nor does it have the potential to be turned into a street machine.
It is not user friendly to any after market add ons either. There is practically nothing short of FI, that will make this car a street racer.
If you want to blow someone off the line, get a Mustang SVU.

Wait a min.. It all depends on how you race, you gonna dump the clutch and launch or what? If you do i think u will beat every single one of those cars. Well maybe a few exceptions. Mustang mite need to be automatic same with the TA, the boxter S will be a drivers race. If you check the 1/4 mile times on every car, the s2k is faster on paper then all of them cept the TA and stang. The s2000 1/4 mile time compared to the boxter is 14.1 compared to 14.0 by the boxter.

You'll beat for sure a IS300 , Transam V6 (V8 automatic maybe) , Boxster by a lot(Not S)
