You need to ask your insurance company -- not us.
Called them and within 72 hours it's a simple cancel.

Thanks!

Do NOT falsify the price which you paid for, it might come back to bite you in the ass one day. If you're going to be poor after buying this car I would seriously think about taking out a small loan to pay for part of it so you still have some cash in your bank account for emergencies (accident, theft, paying the rent, medical bills, etc). You don't have to get a tag up there just to drive it home. Just as long as you have a copy of the Bill of Sale that you and the previous owner signed, you should be good to drive it home and register it there.

Great find and you better let her drive it when you get home.
Are you sure about this?

It needs to have a tag to be driven... no?

I went to the Tag Agency place and they said that it needed a tag to be driven, so I'd need to do title and registration. I asked about a 30 day temp tag, and even though the Website says that they can do that so you have 30 days to sell the old car, they aren't doing that now... WTF? Maybe they'll be able to do it in the other county.

Anyway, there's a $100 fee for a new tag in FL. I couldn't transfer my old tag because I put my old car in my Dad's name for insurance purposes way back when. I found out that I can save $70 by re-titling that car to add myself to the title then switching the plate to the S2000. At least then I get to keep my randomly-generated "RR" license plate. Too bad I can't use my Y1GTR plate because it was a handicap one.

Sounds like it is a good deal. As far as registering it, I'm pretty sure the car has to be registered to the county in the address you live in. As for insurance, I believe that you don't have to get it before you get the car. Usually, you have a window of time to get it. But then again you will need it to register your car. Like it has been mentioned, it is best to contact the insurance company.

Good luck!
I researched some things this morning, and you do have to have insurance beforehand. I signed up today.

It's ridiculous that I have to pay over $100 extra due to an unavoidable accident that I was not at fault and a ticket for having an exhaust that was too loud! What BS!

I'd say, "don't overextend your finances for a car in this economy."

Cash is king and if you lose your job, you don't want all your money tied up in a car.

Make sure you get an insurance quote so you know you can afford that cost.

Where do you live? If cold and snowy, make sure you budget enough for snow tires (or at least, non-summer tires).

Read the FAQs and good luck! You'll love the car, but it's not worth draining the entire bank account in these challenging times, IMHO.
+1. Sounds like your financial position is pretty tight there... I'd never drain my gf's account with a purchase of the car. But anyway, good you have an understanding gf.

Concerning registration, In wisconsin or missouri, if you go to pick up a car, use your old plates and have a bill of sale.

Even if you dont have a bill of sale, they will give you a 10 day notice to register, you get it signed by a cop after registration, and you send it in.

But this is Wisconsin/Missouri.

Don't see the problem with taking out a small loan so that you don't F yourself by having no cash... Good deal regardless!

don't skimp on the full coverage, not to discourage u, but shit happens with this car, accidents, theft, enthusiastic driving.

carport, what is that, like a motorgate parking facility?
Don't worry, I understand this.

I'm coming from the most stolen car in America per capita. Also with a turbo kit that makes the S2000 feel slow!

And what's this about carport? I'm parking in a garage.
