Like everyone has said, just learn on the S. You already know how to drive, and you know the basics of driving stick, so it shouldn't be that bad.

Good luck! Get GPW!

first off, congrats on makin the right choice in vehicle!
second, it shouldnt take you more than a day of driving to get you used to the catch point of the clutch, and how to shift between gears. when I tought myself how to drive stick, I did research on exactly what a clutch does and why its there and what not, so I would recomend googling that, itll make your brain realize how much gas you needa give and how much clutch needs to be released.. but if you really want an easy way to find the catch on the clutch, just sit in the car on a flat road, hold the clutch all the way down, put it in 1st gear, and SLOWLY release the clutch without giving it gas, the car will start moving, theres your catch point!! knowing this will keep ya from burnin the clutch. but like the others said, the s2000 is a fairly easy manual car to drive. the thing i would be more concerned about would be the fact that it is rear wheel drive. if this will be your first rearwheel drive car, you need to understand the charechteristics of the car, and that if you dont know what your doin, youll go sideways in a hurry!! takeit easy through turns, keep the rpms low, and you should be good!!

as for color of s2k, i would recommend RIO YELLOW, or GRAN PRIX WHITE <3

The only problem you may have learning on the S is because it rev's up really quick, the sensitivity of it may throw you off. It may just mean you squeal the tires a bit. I'm sure you will be fine learning, just take your time, go to parking lots and practice first gear, it gets easier each time.

I learned to drive a stick shift on a quiet country road. Stop, go, stop go. Once you get through taking off without stalling you're half way there. Hills/inclines are the next challenge.

I took my son to an industrial park on a weekend when they were closed. I had him do the start/stop thing over and over again until he could take off without stalling. He caught on in no time.

Good luck.

The S gears are close, don't let the clutch up too fast just in case you put it in the wrong gear. It does happen....

i dont have the s2000 yet either..
but i remember i drove around my uncles 2001 Audi TT Turbo Quattro or whatever.
i sucked at it
then a couple months ago i tried it out on my friends 2008 civic coupe.
i sucked at it again.

need less to say im still not confident at all in driving a stick..which is scaring me away from getting an s2k..

just buy the s and learn on it. prior to the s, i've only driven a manual 2 times for about 5 mins.

the s is very forgiving, just don't let out the cluitch too quickly. ease it out to find that sweet spot.

i learned to drive manual with my S she is farely simply to learn on, but if you feel you need practice borrow someones manual car. just be patient and practice in a parking lot or on a empty street. the S is pretty easy to drive, learned in less then 1 day ;P
