I am going to purchase a used 50k mile s2k with carbon fiber hood...intake...cat bak..and headers...is it a good idea buying a 2000 year model because since it was the first year the s2000 came out...arent there problems with it that are later fixed in the newer models...also..how much does it cost for the low profile tires with 18 inch rims...and how much is the windshield replacement?

 

the only significant problem was the spark plug recall.

many S2000s of ALL years are prone to the clutch buzzing while decelerating.

everything else is really minor.

 

Dude was getting rid of his 2000 S2000 for 12K with 89K miles. They are going fo too cheap now.

 

There was a problem with two cylinders starving for oil on certain early S2000's. Check with a knowledgeable Honda dealer.

I know the 2001 I'm selling doesn't have the oil problem.
