so the S will be gone as of monday or tuesday. granted the only reason i am selling is because there is a hole in the block the size of a softball but why sweat the details. i hate to say good bye but oh well. its a 00 with 64k on it? why the hell did my motor pop is what i want to know. i was told its cause of some oil bolts that in the 00/01 the inlets were to small and didnt supply the motor with enough oil. i was just cruizin along at about 70 in 6th and it started to make this god awful sound. next thing i know....... booooom! so should i get another? im seriously torn here. i loved my car but i dont wanna worry about this shit happening again. was gonna get a 03 but then i think i should just get a sti. help me out here people. convince me that i should get a S again. tell me it will be ok. not to mention if i have to drive this 90 civic SEDAN any longer im gonna freak out. HELP!!!!

The oil bolt thing was really intended for people driving 120 for extended periods of time. I'd say it's far more likely the engine was run low on oil.

What are you doing with it? It's a pity you're not closer. I'm looking for a parts car.

 

Your car probably burned a lot of oil, you didnt check it, and it was finally too low. Heck Ive done it myself (luckily I caught it)....I was 3 quarts low!

You know the chances are that you lose less money if you replace what's broken and then try to resell it. So if it's not sold yet I'll buy it from you for cheap

I just blew my engine, not a trashed block but still a lot. Deffinitly just get another S.

 

F20C engines are comparitively cheap compared to even the B18C5 and K20. A shortblock from Honda's only $2100 or so. If I blew a motor, I'd just buy a new one from Honda. Cheaper and more reliable in the long run than rebuilding.

 

Well that's your perspective and that's just a different way of looking at it.

I feel that my shop is going to have a higher attention to detail when putting my block back together. I was deciding between the two choices and in the long run it'll save me 3-400 in parts and labor and I feel that they know the S2000 very well. But I did look at my two choices and I still can't say one out weighs the other.

Then again with his blown block he dosen't have the choice of rebuilding.

and I've gotta say again go get yourself another S

at honda i see alot of popped s2ks for the reason above.
