BYE BYE S2k..HELLO CL-S 6spd
I too traded my 2001 S in for the 2003 3.2 CL-S 6 Speed and love it. I do not miss the S when driving in the rain. I was always waiting for the back end to "step-out" on me at any time. The last week I had it, the streets were wet and I was going around a corner pretty slow and "bang!!!" around it goes. Lucky for me there were no other cars or curbs near me, just a little mud and grass. Well the following Monday I hooked up a trade on the CL-S. The dealer gave me $25,000 for the 2001 S with 28,000 miles and I paid $29,500 for the CL-S with a Spoiler. Now. I can drive with ease when it is raining!!!!
A lot of your wet handling problems are due to the very touchy alignment specs. It can be dialed out. Also, regarding the BMW M3, they are great cars, but at the last two autocrosses S2000's on stock tires have beat most of the M3's on Hoosiers. The heavily modded M3's are a different matter, but they are not street driveable.

[B]Lol! Why would I want a 330 ci when it costs $10K with the same equipment... I could have a TL/CL S or a G35? The latest car magazines have shown the TLS (with crappy thin 17 inch wheels with even crappier R rated all weather tires) handling better then the 330Ci in lat G's and slalom (note the BMW had wide 17 inch wheels and ZR rated tires). The TL's also matches it in a 0-60 and quarter mile. It has 40 more hp, and much better reliability. Its much larger and is considered on of the best handling front wheel drive cars made. Most recent comparisons show the TLs looses only because its given a rating of 5 on style and the BWM gets a 10... style is subjective and is in the eyes of the beholder and therefore irrelevant, many of us think BWMs look pretty dam plain and not very well styled (say as compared to an S2000).

G1s2k,
Nice!
After my accident with S2K, I'm also thinking about trading it in for CL-S 6-speed, but I know it would not be as fun and exciting as the S2k.
Time to get Comptech headers! Boost your performance ~25-30 hp at the crank!

The only good thing I see on the CL-S is the color.. it's awesome. But that car looks like a Japanese Thunderbird. To big, bulky and out of proportion for a coupe. The build quality is still econo just like the Accord coupe and drives only slightly better as it rolls in the turns.
Having driven both the BMW 330ci and the Acura CL-S, I am sorry to say that the CL's handling can't hold a candle to the BMW's handling. The build quality on the BMW appears to be better and the overall dynamics are stellar. The Acura just looks more low buck exteriorwise but looks nicer interiorwise.
If I had to do away with the S, I would definitely get the BMW or even the 2003 Accord coupe V6 6 speed over the odd looking CL-S.
And yes, I would pay that premium, but not because of the badge. I could care less about that, I just require that the car be fun to drive, have great handling, and look nice. The BMW fulfills all of those.
But happy motoring with your purchase..

Yeah I know...thanks. Comptech said that with the 6 speed they have with their Headers/ Intake / and exhaust..the car was pulling 12.9 with the SC'r. 6spd guys with just i/h/e are running 13.5 or so..so that sounds right to me. Im still waiting for the dyno be released. The 6spd puts down about 220whp whereas the auto 191whp.....well have to see. Later guys and thank you for all the good feed back.... I miss the S but it was time to stop putting money into it that werent mods.
