Just check the Yosemite and Caltrans website: all passes are open! Go for it. Tioga pass is great!

May be once in a lifetime. Hangover be damned.
So the real move doesn't happen until September, this was just an opportunity to move the S2000. The plan is for my wife to fly to Reno on the last day of Tailhook and we'll take our time taking the other car to VA.

After 5 years in Lemoore and many many trips to Fallon, I've gotten to take all of the passes through the Sierras. Definitely one of the things I'm gonna miss most about the west coast. Although one of the dumber things I ever did was take the Tioga pass on the way home from Fallon over Memorial Day weekend last year. Obviously awesome scenery but I think I averaged 20mph through the park when all I wanted to do was get home after 4 weeks on det.

For what its worth, I did end up taking I40 through NC and am happy I did.

I live in Norfolk too, a couple blocks away from Westover. Welcome.

Tioga can be crowded but with all the scenery I find I never really go fast. My mpg jumps to 35-36mpg over that too.

See you at Tailhook!

Will have the yellow 09 beast with me. Look for the plate: OK3YR.
