I expect to use the S2K for quite a few long trips, and I would like the ambient cabin noise lowered slightly(and improve the stock radio sound). Since, I don't plan to take this unit to the Glen, a slight weight penalty is not at issue.

Has anyone attempted to apply sound deadening tactics.
Or does anyone have opinions on the effect of the Hard Top and/or roof liner?

MG Racing can get the top liner. Dedaning material is only worth while if the whole car is done and it weighs a lot! Biggest bennefits are in a competition car.

As for the stereo upgrade. Speakers efficient ones are a start or a head unit upgrade. Check sig. for help if needed.

can anyone give opinions on whether the stock aeroscreen helps? I know that the larger one available on this board will undoubtedly be better, but I'm in a dilemma- I bought a convertible for the wind and noise (it is alot worse in the Alfa!) but on long highway trips it is a nuisance. I don't necessarily want to block out alot of the wind, which the larger upgrade would do, but I also don't want to waste my $$ on the factory screen if it's worthless. Thanks!

Depends on how tall you are. I am 6-2 and the stock wind blocker is almost useless. Basically I put up the side windows and sit low in the seat.

I drove my Stook for about a week before I let the dealer put the sound reduction sealer on it and for $150 it is well worth it (IMHO) There is a very noticable difference, with the top up it is MUCH quieter.

Have installed Ricks 7/8 screen. Major improvement over the stock screen that I purchased. For the record I am 5'7". I have ordered Ricks head rests. This should make the cabine even quieter.
