Default Can hard driving with the AC on during a hot day

Hi. I just blew a head gasket on my 88 Sentra and I don't want to blow my S2000 engine. It has plenty of clean oil and I always wait 10 minutes after driving to rev the engine.

Nonetheless, let me ask: Does driving hard with high revving on a hot day with the AC on put a lot of harmful stress on the engine? Should I take it easy during these conditions?

Or is the S2000 engine able to withstand this treatment? Is there ever a time when the engine, after being warmed up, should be treated gently?

No.

The S2000 like most newer cars will disengage the AC under hard driving conditions

i think the recent triple digit heat just kinda eats up that extra bit of performance kick anyway...
definately not as peppy and enjoyable as taching it up when its cool out

So many of you are saying that you are concerned about putting profound stress on your engine such as hard driving with the AC on during a sweltering summer day.

Do you think I should take it easy? Even though there may be a performance loss on a hot day, it's still fun for me to make it roar.

Don't think it'll do much harm. Just that you are going to lose some horsepower ...

It's a Honda, not an exotic. I drive her hard when I want, regardless of the temp. Never had the temp gauge go above 3 bars (AP1) either. Running Mobil 1 syn. Stay up on the maintenance and have fun with it.

going past 5/8th throttle with the air conditioning on recirc and fan speed above 4 notches will instantly detonate your engine.

i really wish honda had put a warning on the center console
