Default Can I keep the changer?

This is a quick question, Is there any way to control or connect the stock CD Changer with a new head unit. Ie an Alpine CDA 9835 for instance. I was told that the stock changer is an alpine unit is this true? This is off topic but I just ordered a Modifry's dash control Alpine IR adapter. Will this work with an Alpine CDA 9835? I read somewhere that they may not support 05 model line up.

Thanks in advanced I just bought my S and love it can't wait to add a little comptech.

I believe the changers use Alpine's earlier style control bus (M-bus?) and the newer head units us Ai-Net but there is an adaptor. CHeck the Electronics section for more info.

no you can not keep your factory changer you would have to get a new one and that may only be the alpine AI net changer and if you dont want that you have to go FM modulated which blows.
