Default Is the CdChanger (my2000) compatible with any known brands ?

I'm wondering about changing head unit, could I possibly keep the
CD changer ? Would it be Sony,Pioneer, Alpine compatible.

I actually learned today that Alpine makes an interface for the dash controls.

I believe Alpine Units will work with the CD changer.

I was in the same dilemma, I wanted to keep my stock changer with the Alpine unit I bought and to my dismay, there are no adapters that allow you to do this.

They make adapters for the stock radio to go into aftermarket Alpine changers but not the other way around. And unless you are good with electronics, there is no easy way to make your own adapter. Thus I sold my changer.

Yes, I have an Alpine changer running through the stock head unit. The 2 work seamlessly together.

Not sure of the model #, but I know you have to use the older, lower end interface model(s) (I believe it's M Bus, vs. AI-Net which won't work)

Exactly, yes I'm looking for a new headunit, but will keep my original cdchanger if possible.

I understand the M-Bus is the interface that should work, not the one used on the high-end
models (AI-net ?). So, I would go for a midrange model with the M-bus.

I asked this same question as I have an Alpine with the M-bus changer control and had the oem changer. It was a no go. Unless you know someone that can make a custom adapter harness for you, it can't be done. Best thing is to just sell off the changer or keep the oem unit.
