I'm not sure but you can always check by taking off the plastic door skin and looking. It only is held on by like 4 screws.

I've actually used a coathanger to open a friend's Accord - it was a mid-90s model I think, with the kind of latch that goes up and down. It was rather easy to hook the coathanger on the latch and pull it up.

The S2000 though? Hmm, it goes in/out sideways mostly. I think it would be extremely difficult. Much easier for a thief to just cut the top and unlatch it.

I think the locks that only go up and down it would work on. I'm not an S2000 theif so I really don't know if it would work on it. IMO, I don't think it would work because it is a sideways lock(if you know what I mean) and the positioning of where the lock is pretty awkward.

I don't think it is how the lock 'goes in and out', that is sideways...(which only means that the mechanism that you pull is 'sideways') but more of a fact of how old the car is. I've had a tow truck driver open up my 93 civic when I locked my keys in. Took him all of five seconds. I believe, and I tried wikipedia, but it let me down, that new cars, ~2000 and newer have specific devices to stop coathanger unlocks.

so much hate. i remember the good old days where we would actually try to help each other instead of talk trash. im just curious cuz i saw a AAA guy use a device to open a lady's car door and wondered how they would do our cars.

I believe it could be done, but it wouldn't be easy. The space between the window and the top will easily allow a coat hanger through, but the rest isn't amature accessable. You'd have to insert, bend, insert more bend more until the hook was on the lock, then put the coat hanger to the back of the window to get the sideways action. It might be easier to just hook the keys out of the ignition from the passenger side. But even better, call a lock smith.

But this would only be usefull to the actual owner of the car who'd locked his keys in. Any self respecting thief would just cut the top.

im hating because your other thread stated that:

im preparing for someone to steal my stuff.
I would not want you or anyone else try and learn how to break into my car, let alone other peoples car.
