I hate to say it, but I've done that particular deed twice. Easy money, so I kept both pairs of seats for my dinette set

I don't think I could have done it with the hard top on. Lucky I'm just stupid in the summer.

If you really wanna find out how quickly it can be done, just call AAA. Tell them you locked you keys inside and it'll prob take the guy all of 30 secs. to open your car.

I used to own a shop(recently sold it) and we had one of these systems, it worked great. A car like the S2k with no upper window frame would make using this very easy, you just have to be careful not to pry to far and break the window.

The reason you use the inflatable wedges and not your fingers is because you need your hands to get the door unlocked. Limiting yourself to one hand makes it very difficult. Also brake line works much better then a coat hanger, it's still slim and can be bent but it's strong enough to unlock stubborn locks.

sad as this sounds, i'd rather have the bastard seat thieves know how to steal from me without damaging my top!

if someone has it in his/her head to steal s2000 seats, i think i'm pretty well screwed. i don't have a trunk money for defense, and the car is eventually going to be outside at a store or somewhere where thieves have opportunity. i'll just have to try to limit the opportunity by not leaving it on the street at night, etc.

but it sounds like too much of a process for a thief anyways--one knife, two seconds, or one brick, two seconds is much easier for a thief than a 30 minute game with a coat hanger. too bad they seem to cut tops on convertibles, as windows are cheaper and easier to replace.

so i'm an EE and i remember a senior design project that was done at UT a while back. Is it possible to scan and continuously output a signal to the receiver to 'unlock' a car door or 'open' a garage door opener? it was an interesting project though not a good moral project. But yeah it was a cool, successful, project. Although im not sure how practical it was since they used the same garage door opener and unlock mechanism for all test cases.

would kinda suck if a thief can get their hands on one and just walk up to the car, push a button, and wait for the car to unlock in a matter of minutes.

^sounds like baloni.

Then you should theoretically be able to hook up an air hose to the lock and unlock about any car.

not to mention it'd probably dent the keyhole area.

Actually, I heard the tennis ball trick works... on some cars. It depends if the car uses a vacuum lock i believe. I think like the mid 90s hondas and toyotas used this which it works most of the time.

Yes it can be done very easily on the S2000; I did it with my 2003 S2000 last year when I dropped the keys in the trunk and...well...
