can our S be stolen?
ok, now i'm starting to get really paranoid again. the other day i went to my local track and i saw s2k seats on a integra (makes me wonder how the kid got it). i also saw seats for sale on ebay. yesturday some guy walked up to me and we started chatting about the car and he mentioned that he had a s2k and it was stolen. i freaked out!!! i thought that our cars could not be stolen. how do they manage to steal the car? do they replace the ecu? the reason why i want to know is for me to improve upon my security. i had a turbo gsr and that thing was stolen and never recovered. i lost so much time, effort and money. if you guys know how they (the F#$%in thieves) do it, please let me know. PM me w/ the info, don't post it on the net. thanks.
get an alarm system and some sort of anti theft device.
no car is steal proof 100 percent. if they want it, theyll take it.
why wouldnt an s2k be able to be stolen? its like any other car.
more deterrants, less likely itll be stolen. worst comes to worst, thieves can just tow your car away on a flat bed.

If you check the florida Forum.. TSG who works on most of the South FLA S2K's works @ a Auto Mall in Coral Springs he says he saw 3 S2K's with NO seats and sliced up tops.... the guys over at Honda said the cars could probably be there for 1 month, and costing a lot of $$... Scared all of us of course.. But isn't that what insurance is for?? Especially full coverage?
I agree that the immobilizer should make it impossible to hot-wire the car. But they can (and will) flat bed the car.
And the immobilizer will never stop f*cked up people from trashing your car in other ways (keying, slicing the top, etc).

The immobilizer only makes it very difficult, if not impossible, to drive off with your car. BUT, if someone wants it bad enough they can always drag it onto a flatbed tow truck and then its good bye S2000.
As for parts and such, it isnt that hard to break into a convertible, so it is possible for these parts to get stolen easily.
Best bet: Be selective about where you park, get an alarm that protects the inside as well as the doors and trunk and hood, and do not draw too much attention to any aftermarket sound system you may have in the car.
Outside of that, insurance will cover anything that we cannot avoid, but there is no point in freaking out over it any, as we can only do our best to avoid it.

Also, some people told me that if I don't want to get my top slashed, I should keep the top down. But isn't that just an invitation to steal my seats (even if I have a proximity sensor alarm)?
Are you all comfortable leaving your top down?
i already have a viper alarm and a couple of kill switches. the reason why i bought the s2k is because i got sick and tired of having a gsr and people trying to rob me all the time. hopefully this car won't be another nightmare again. thanks guys.

inside a store.
I also park it in the furthest away parking space available, and on the end spot.
