Can You Really Compare a S2000 to a Miata? Really?
Yeah they are comparable in certain aspects but like mentioned above....I wouldn't want to be seen in one. They just don't have aggressive lines or something. The entire body doesn't do anything for me :/
Can't forget that big goofy looking smiling front bumper on the newer ones. No thank you.

HAHAHAHAHA. I said the samething. Nothing personal Miata owners..

Both have NA 4 bangers under the hood. Both are rwd. Both are roadsters. Pretty comparable imo; with that being said, the s2k takes a dump on the miata's chest all day.

And how to tell a bunch of you haven't driven them...
Yes. The S2000 is faster, but it weighs 400-500 pounds more than a Miata. It feels no where near as light as the Miata because it isn't. The S2000 is much more precise (there's less roll etc) but it's also not nearly as forgiving as the Miata. The Miata on the other hand feels like a little toy that wants to be played with. Every time you drive one you're just enjoying everything. You can spend an hour driving a Miata and be grinning the entire time. I then spend an hour in the S2000 and work up a sweat, then grin like crazy after the drive.
All that said, watch out for any supercharged or turbo'd Miata. They'll leave an S2000 behind pretty easily. I know for a fact that my Miata will pull pretty well on my S2000.

I don't care if you have 12 miatas in your yard - If you say the miata does anything better that the S you're just crazy. Miatas are a great car. But the s2000 comparables are z3 and base boxster. And those are reaching. The fact is, there was nothing else in the price range that offered 240+ hp and a drop top
My uncle owns a 2005 Miata. We've driven each others cars over many miles in the canyons north of Boise, Idaho.
Under 5000 rpms, the Miata feels similar to the S2000. As mentioned, it is more forgiving. There is less bump-steer, the road impacts are less jarring and the hydraulic steering is more precise with better feel. Above 5,000 rpms the S2000 shines.
It depends on the course/road you take the two cars on for a comparison, but I feel the Miata can hold its own just fine against an S2000.

The Miata was built for mass production at a low price and they sold a ton of them. Flimsy chassis, econo-car engine, mushy suspension, automatic transmissions in a lot of them.
The S2000 was a celebration of everything Honda learned about cars and racing. Stiff chassis, great brakes, award winning engine, handling on par with the NSX.
They're both fun rwd sports cars, but if you've driven both you know the S2000 does everything at a much higher level.
A BOLT ON MSM will destroy a non boosted s2000 in straights up to 130 mph. Add 3.63s and a turbo upgrade with suspension mods (4k, still less than the price diff in the 2) and it will shit on an NA s2k EVERYWHERE. I own both and know this for a fact.

No offense of course, but the truth hurts!
