Even so there is still nothing special or cool about owning a miata IMO
I had zero interest in owning a miata while searching for my s2000. I think most of us feel the same

I just sold a 1.6 Turbo, absolute blast to drive. On a tight road, would take the Miata over the S, but once it opens up, would take the S.

An old, lightweight RWD convertible with about 180hp is a guaranteed fun time.

Mustangs, Evo, STi are totally different.
i tend to agree with the above.

and to the original quote, saying mods on Miata are more reliable than modding a S2000? That's crap. The S2000 is one of the most reliable cars i've ever driven, stock or modded

I Feel you on that!!! And with That said I just put 90K on my 06 S2k. And it's still running Strong!!! I've had no major problem. And i've been boosted and Used nitrous all since 38k!!! I think the Miata is built for the older generation of s2k owners? LOL Hope not. Nice but not me.

Comparing boosted Miatas to stock/NA S2Ks isnt really fair. If you wanna start comparing boosted vs boosted good luck finding any miata that is comparable lol

Unless you want to compare equal $ to $.
There are things the S does better and there are things the M does better.
Decide which you're after and how much $ you want to put into it.

What exactly is the point of this thread? It seems like it's just basically to bash Miatas... Obviously everyone on this board is going to be biased, as it's an S2000 forum.

Both are great cars, just a matter of preference. I wanted an S2000 because I wanted a fun drop top that was reliable and had nice styling. I personally enjoy having a plethora of options when it comes to reasonably priced roadsters and look forward to more competition from the likes of BRZ (if the drop top ever comes out).
