I have the Comptech....Great looking, great noise, the hood prop opening is useless, but I put on Tein hood dampers....I had an AEM V2, but ditched it due to fear of hydro lock...No chance of that with the Comptech...

Arc induction box, its a great intake.

pros:
amazing throttle response
great sound

cons:
prone to heat soak(anything but a cai will have this prob)
when combined with heatsheilds fixes most of heat problems.

oh and between those too, go with comptech. ha.

I forget the market price on the Comptech, but the K&N can be had for 250 on hopupracing.com...I went with the K&N and it's awesome. Great sound, very deep and aggressive at WOT, well worth the money. It's significantly cheaper than the Comptech from what i remember, and also gives you a louder sound. Depends on what you're going for. Take into consideration that the comptech comes with a airbox, which silences the sound more than the more open design of the K&N, which has a heat sheild that seals on top with the hood.

I went with the K&N and love it.

I'm planning on ordering the comptech too ...but what's this about the hood props?.... Does the hood not close or something?

Just an assumption:

The hood prop and the comptech intake probably share the same space, making it difficult or impossible to raise and lower the hood prop.

Again, this is just an assumption, as I do not have a Comptech intake.

I also bought the K&N FIPK kit. Very well built, easy install, and the sound is great. I'm extremely happy with the kit and would highly recommend this kit to anyone. great price too!
