K&N seems to be the one to get from reading posts daily for years. Good blend of all the things people want at a strong price point. I have a K&N drop in filter and am happy with it.

Thought about the whole intake, but I have an Italian Air Horn and it looks like it would be in the way of the intake.

Ditto with the K&N. Bought mine about a month ago from Crutchfield, and it made me fall in love with the car all over again. Best $260 I've spent so far.

Although it can be had cheaper off of eBay.

I was going to buy the K&N, but I found a used Comptech for the same price. I'm very happy so far except I hate foam filters. Aslong as you install the box right and trim the hood prop per the directions you'll have no problem with your hood closing; people are making a big deal out of nothing, IMO.

Im going to take my hood prop off anyway, i ordered the tein hood damper. So most people would pick Comptech over K&N?

If you want a carbon fiber dress up piece that has a poor foam filter, get the comptech. If you want a well made product that is designed to add power get the K&N.

My guess is that the Comptech and K&N will make very similar power. I'm sure the K&N has a better tone and a slight edge in power. I've considered selling the Comptech and getting one, but I don't want to lose my carbon fiber pieces since they look so nice. Moral of the story, if you are just looking for power and a nice sound get the K&N.

As a side note, I'll be replacing the UNI foam filter that comes in the Comptech with a nice AFE cotton-gauze filter.

How much more power? .01 hp?

I'd opt for the Comptech. I've never been a fan of K&N FIPK. If anyone wants to sell their comptech, please PM me. Thanks.

Comptech claims 5hp for their intake and K&N claims 10, but a lot of dyno testing have shown K&N to be right around 5 with everyone else. The most noticable gains with the Comptech were down low below VTEC, but it also pulled a bit harder up top and had an awsome sound (which I can no longer hear with my exhaust).
