Anybody purchased the Honda car cover? The pollen in NC is killing me. Honda calls it a "Dust Cover". I wonder if they intended to get wet, it it truly a dry weather "dust cover"

Yep, I have one and use it religiously. It does an OK job of keeping the pollen off of the car, but some still gets through. As far as rain, it does a minimal job. There is nothing more "fun" than removing a wet car cover in the morning in the rain.... But it does appear to be slightly water repellant. I always try to remove the cover if rain is in the forcast.

dbkelly-

For future reference there is a search function at the top of this site. As one would imagine there is a large amount of the same information being reposted every other day. You will usually find the information you are looking for in a matter of seconds if you do a search first. Here I have included a thread (one of many) on the car covers. Good luck and see you around! http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...?threadid=11036

dbkelly, just purchased a Covercraft Weathersheild cover. I picked it over the Honda because it is lighter weight, will dry quickly if it get wet and folds down to a smaller size when stowed.

You can get your choice of grey or tan. Used it for the first time yesterday and it did a good job of keeping the GA pollen off the car.

I think the Honda cover is also goodand about $50 cheaper (from H&A) but I'm not sure how well the Honda "Dust" cover will hold up outside. Mine outside while I'm at work.

I would definately not recommend the OEM Honda Dust Cover for outdoor use. It is a cloth/flannel-type material and is obviously not made to be used outdoors.

If you want a cover for outdoor use, contact one of our sponsors, Top Notch Auto Accessories, and speak to Rob.

Rob is very knowledgeable about the different cover materials available and will work to meet your needs and budget!

I have the factory cover and it works fine. It is an under the carport cover and can be washed on the car, so the instructions say. The only thing I did wrong was to treat my tires and then put the cover on. Car was looking good untill I removed the cover and some of the tire stuff ended up on the car itself.

This is truely JUST a dust cover. Its like thowing a blanket on your car. Which is fine for dust but BAD for weather!
