Default car cover question

I just bought a car cover and i had a few questions about it. It is a genuine honda car cover with the antenna sleeve and mirror sleeves and all the other things. It has a soft inner liner and i was wondering if i could put it on when the car is wet, and if it does rain on it should i take it off soon or will it be fine to stay wet and dry naturally. any info would be great.
thanks
alex

I think the Honda car cover is a dust cover and not a serious car cover for outdoor use. It would be fine to cover the car in mild conditions but a more robust cover is needed for rainy seasons or Storm weather IMHO

If a car cover is labeled all weather it can be left on a dry car during incliment weather but should NOT be put onto a wet car as it can trap water and damage surfaces. I would suggst removing the cover after bad weather has passed and inspecting the car and or touching it up with detailer or whatever process you use to clean and detail the car.

The OEM Honda cover is definitly a dust and dirt cover. It is not designed to protect from rain. I have one and only use it for dust protection. It will absorb water and could cause mold to form inside your S if left on wet for any length of time, especially in summer when humidity is very high. If you do not have a garage or carport, I suggest a water proof cover.

i ended up using the oem cover, outside. Its been through rain and shine and it has held up pretty good. It isnt inpenetrable to water but it keeps all the pollen and bird crap off the car that is for sure. when it rains it usually air drys, but i throw it in the dryer every now and then.
