Car cover question ?
Hi we got a s2000 ap2 soft top from 2004 in silverstone paint . I have a question Because we live in ireland , and ireland is very wet country , so i want to ask are car covers good ? What are Your opinion about car cover , do they work ??? Or i Heard about a car tent eg something like this http://m.globalsources.com/gsol/Gene...=2000000003844 is this good better than car cover? Is it worth it? What do you guys do ? Or is there point in using a car cover / or car tent? Thanks for answers.
You might also consider posting in the UK regional forum since others in your area may have good advice from firsthand experience there.

I'd also suggest asking someone in your region or similar climate. I find my cover useful but it's hot, humid & sunny here. No idea what a cover would be like in a wet climate. Most covers aren't waterproof (though some are water resistant) since they need to breathe.
I have been using car covers (gone through 5 of them) for one car I use as my airport car. Its left at the airport for up to 2 weeks at a time. I get good quality ones but they eventually fail. They do an excellent job protecting the car from the elements but after a rain the dried dust will be deposited on the car. When I have removed the cover soon after precipitation, the cover is, of course wet, and heavy. When I get home I need to get it out of the trunk and dry it out. I do not use one for my S as I have an enclosed garage for it.
I would take the advice of those with nice cars in your area but I suspect the better route would be the car tent if you have space for it. The advantages are ease of use: you drive in and out. It protects from water and sun without making contact with the paint. It is the closest thing to an enclosed garage you can get. The downside besides space, is the cost. You may want to check a few sites in the USA and have it shipped. I know Costco has a nice one. Let us know what you find.
