Hi Guys. I'm new to this site. I just bought a Black/Black 2001 S2K here in Raleigh. It was rolled off the assembly line on March 28, but so far the dealer says it hasn't shipped yet. He thinks it should be in around the end of the month, but isn't sure. I was just wondering the average ship time once it finally leaves Japan. And why hasn't it shipped yet if its been assembled for that long. I can't wait to go pick it up.

Hey Jaeger. Welcome aboard!

To be honest I don't know too much about the time it takes to ship
the vehicles from Japan.

I'd guess that it is in the region of 4-5 weeks travel time (I could be wrong!)

The car I am getting was ordered by somebody else (or a dealer) and
then came available on the shipping database so I nabbed it!

Although, as you can see, it's not arrived as yet and I was
originally told the car would arrive no later than the 7th of April.

I just hope the ship hasn't sunk! glug....

 

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, the car I nabbed was ordered by the dealer and was the only one left on their order that wasn't already sold. So I don't know when the actual order went in, but I saw on the sheet that it was finished on March 28, but hadn't shipped yet. I was hoping for 2 weeks on the ship and a week on the truck, but thats when the car actually ships... :-( Oh well, it better get here before summer really kicks in. I'll be really mad if I don't get it until after summer.

My Stook was made on Feb 23rd and I finally got it on March 31st. If I remember everything correctly, it arrived in Oregon (port of entry) on Mar 6th. It left Oregon on March 19th and arrived at dealers on Mar 27. I picked it up on March 31st and have been loving it ever since.

I have no idea what the delays were in between, but I guess the red tape is a pain. In any case, it took a little over a month from the date it was made.
