Other than a police scanner at the right frequency, there isn't much else in current date technology to do so. I think everyone would love this, but it's simply not possible.

In Georgia, Laser is used by the State Highway Patrol. How does the V1 or the Escort do with laser? Being that laser is so direct I still don't see how a detector will give you enough time when the police use a method that is not RF based.

[QUOTE]Also, with "instant-on" radar I would tend to get nailed anyway with or without the $400 V1 or any other brand detector when driving alone

For me, driving one of my cars or motorcycles without the V1 mounted feels like driving around without my seatbelt buckled...

For half the price, I might consider an escort detector as a "second" unit to avoid some of the swapping I currently do. For $50 less, I'd take the V1 every time!

And regarding the instant on: My experience is traffic cops are generally lazy. Too much work to actually pull the instant-on trigger rather than just sit back and watch the display as the cars go by, so they rarely use instant on. They just sit or cruise around spewing radar all over the place, at least around here. And when they are using instant on, they usually light up some car in front of you, so when you get a high intensity K-band signal that appears quickly and then disappears, guess what is ahead?

Or just do what I do, drive within a few mph of the speed limit... or keep up with traffic...

Keep the speed on the track and the ramps

Not here in Ohio. The Highway Patrol just loves their laser guns. Got to be some way of really blocking of jamming those things. Around here, they seem to be used more than K band instant on radar.
