How about spending 18G's to go slower 0 to 130 mph or taking longer to stop from 70 mph and top-gear passing 30-50 and 50-70.

I find it interesting that S2K Challenge drivers round Auto Club Speedway faster in stock cars...

I lap it in a stock CR with just tires a full 6 seconds faster, and I'm a mid-pack driver at best.

 

I don't remember that specific test, but I believe that same car was featured in an advertisement for a tire manufacturer (not sure which one) that was run in magazines around that time. I wish I still had all my old copies of Car and Driver and Road and Track, but they disappeared somewhere along the line.
