Seibon's are cheap compared to others, they're 'wet' carbon, basically FRP w/a carbon layer on top, most are. If you want real carbon fiber plan on spending $2-4k, for 2 fenders.
Seibon's are alright, there are better, you pay for what you get. I actually have the Seibon fenders, 1 fit fine the other doesn't and needs a lot of work to fit properly, w/a 6-8 week lead time it kind of sucks.

hmmm yea the "wet" carbon would be fine...because our body parts are light as they are anyways. I just love the look of carbon fiber so im not desperately needing weight reduction.
arent the seibon's the 10mm wider? i want a pair of carbon fiber fenders that are oem style.
Mistman how much did you pay for yours?

The weight savings is not significant, maybe a pound, I didn't weigh them, stock are very light, and very thin. I had to replace mine due to an accident so went aftermarket. I actually think the CF/FRP will resist minor dings better than the OEM.
Stock fender are about $200 each, I paid around $800 for both of the Seibon's, yeah, they're 10mm wider.
BTW-I saw a post last week in the FS section someone was selling both Seibon fenders and a hood, they were on the car and looked like they fit really well. If the shop hadn't already put so much time into fixing the one that's bad I would have tried to pick up those fenders.

hmmm interesting...all i want are oem style carbon fiber. I too got hit by someone trying to park next to me and they are cutting me a check for 1050 for one fender and door panel. I wanna get the carbon fiber fenders for sure. I just need to find some. I see some on ebay, but not sure about the sellers or the fitment. Mistman have you heard of carbon creations?

I've heard of them but don't know anything about 'em.
Man, I was at the shop yesterday, those fender really are NOT very good. I bet when all is said and done I'll have as much into fitting them as I do into the fenders themselves. I'm having them painted, can't imagine what someone who didn't want to paint them would do. The passenger side fender sits 5mm higher than the drivers side, you can measure it with a stick, the lips that bolt to the top of the inner fenders aren't the same height. The drivers side fender was bowed up in the middle, you could stick 2 fingers between it and the headlight, they had to heat it and shape it like 4 times to get the fit right. Where it bolts to the rocker panel the angles were far less than 90 deg, they had to make a metal jig, clamp it in and heat it until the shape was correct. It's a lot of work and takes time if you do it right. I honestly don't think ALL Seibon fenders are this bad, the shop felt one of them might have been removed from the jig a little early. The problem is it takes so freaking long to get them it's hardly worth re-ordering. If I were you I'd buy the ones in the For Sale section as they look like they fit well and the price is about right.
