Seriously. Mice are no joke. I had one bite a hole in my fuel line just before the fuel rail and gas was showering my engine block while driving! Could have ended in a fiery death! F mice.

I had a similar issue after last winter storage in my shop. They made a nest in the trunk on top of the spare tire, pretty much had a mouse hotel in the trunk. Had to completely remove all the trunk panels and Clorox the interior. They did get into the cabin but didn't cause any issues there, mostly just the trunk. I have 2 toyota trucks and have no issues with them, the Acura or the super duty, they get into the Odyssey if it's parked too long but we're very pro-active about that vehicle. I'm building a carport to park the S under currently, I refuse to let it sit in the shop for another winter. JLUDE is right, they're no joke and have cost me quite a bit of money over the last 15 yrs living out in the boonies, you have to stay on top of them and in some cases (like my shop) there's really no way to completely eliminate them. I do have cats, but the coyote's took 2 of the best last spring (along w/my wife's terrier) and the last one is very cautious outside these days.
They may not pee a lot at one time but seem to go in the same place most of the time and can completely soak thru carpeting given enough time. I also had a spare serial gauge in the trunk and they ate thru the wire covers in numerous places. I had a Civic years ago and when the older kids were ready to drive it I spent about 4 months trying to get the smell out. They nested on top of the blower for the heater. I ended up having to replace all the ducting and carpet, removing the dash and door panels and scrubbing it down w/the enzyme cleaner which left almost as bad of a smell in it for another 4 or 5 months before it was finally livable. Until I used the enzyme I had taken out the ducting and cleaned it w/bleach but the smell returned after a week or so. I hated that car and I HATE MICE!!!!!!!

This happened in the Accord LX I borrowed from my parents until I could afford an S2. That darn mouse cost me $100 for a mechanic to fix.

I have found that mouse poison bait stations work great...put them in the garage/carport on the inside of the front tires of any parked vehicle...that is how they climb up into the engine bay! As long as you keep poison out...they won't have time to build nests, piss, or chew your car to pieces!
