Yes!!

I thought mine was the result of a high heel shoe (not mine) scraping in a straight line. Any ideas how it got there, I'm willing to listen to any good theories.

Anybody know???

Everyone has it. I forget the actual reason, but there is something they have to get to and the only way to do it is to slice the carpet, I don't remember what it actually is.

Edit :

I just did a search, here it is:

Whoa stop the presses!

Is this another undocumented problem that they should have a TSB for?

If they have to get at something, why wouldn't they remove the carpet or replace the damaged piece when they are done?

I guess I am going to have to talk to my dealer about this.

Anybody have more details?

TIA

I guess I should always do a search.

It seems this is a topic that has been discussed several times.

I am really mad!!! I hate the factory mats and now to find out that my sliced carpet was the result of a unprofessional installer putting in the useless mats, that is truly "adding insult to injury"!

We need to get together and demand either the dealers or Honda, replace our carpets!!!

The dealer cuts the carpet to install the factory post for the OEM floormats. They don't always do a good job of it. I wish I had stopped them from doing mine but at the time hadn't yet created my 1 piece floormats.

The '02 models come with the carpet pre-cut from the factory.

yea mines really really neatly done i put my fingers under there and theres something sticking up and i would think it has to be cut and i think probably all carpet from honda is pre cut so i dont think theres much a dealer can do but i'll see on friday. if they cant do anything im just gonna hot glue it down so it doesnt rip in the future.
