Same here, I have 1600 miles and when the tranny is cold I get a little catch from 1-2. After it warms up it seems to go away.

I don't know about that... there are stories of all makes out there. You just had bad luck with the folks you worked with.

It would be interesting if anyone could refer us to earlier threads on this issue, since one post-writer mentioned that he was familiar with this problem prior to purchase. Although it was suggested by the tech at PerfPro that this was a designed feature to promote durability, that is rebutted by inconsistent reports from owners. Seems much more likely that this is a quality-assurance problem in the tranny. On the other hand, someone with technical expertise may be able to clarify this issue. When I took my car into Honda of Oakland, the tech noted that the customer'
s complaint was verified and the transmission fluid changed. He reported the problem solved, but it wasn't. Has anyone else attempted to get a repair of this problem with or without success? Personally, I don't like the feeling; it's annoying; it feels like there's an impediment in the shift. However, if I knew that it was a design feature intended to create longevity in the tranny, I'd be inclined to live with it.

Try this today... just try and shift faster today to see if it goes away. I know when I shift fast, it's not there... if I do a lazy shift from 2-3, it's tehre...

"The tranny is well mated to the engine's torque band and the shifter has that racing "tink" as it engages gates..."
This is a quote from the Edmunds evaluation review that appears in a recent thread: "S2000 picked #1 again in comparison test."

The "catch" you are describing is common.....but is less noticable when the tranny fluid heats up.
