I had a similar situation involving the hot water heater. Had to turn the gas off and spent ~12 hrs without hot water.
BTW for you dog types, pound for pound, a cat will whip about any dog's butt. A dog's only advantage over a cat is size and brute strength. Cats are smarter and quicker thinking.

I had my dog out in the front yard one time (he was tied up to a tree) and there was this neighbor cat sitting about 20 yards away. My dog was so hyped up and acted really crazy. The hair on this back were all raised up and he acted like he was about kill somebody. So I decided to let him go to see if anything interesting would happen. As soon as I let him go, he charged toward the cat at lightning speed. I knew for sure the cat would just run up the tree or something. By the time he was about 2 yards away from the cat, he brought it to a screeching hault because the cat did not even budge. This is the funny part - The dog did a few more scary moves and again cat acted like nobody was there. My dog looked at the cat, then looked at me, then at the cat again hoping the cat would just disappear but the cat was still there. He then turned away and walked back to me.. ROFL ... I was laughing the entire time. I have to give my dog (Chiguagua) some credit since the cat was about 3 times his size

This is so funny. I just had a conversation yesterday with a coworker who was practicing his golf swing whe his girlfriend's cat ran into the arc. Don't worry about the cat you animal lovers, $2000 later kitty was good as new.
